I got the paint and clear coat. Ill probably shoot it Sunday morning when the air is calm and temp should be in the 70s. I did some final wet sanding with 800 grit. I also dialed in my spray gun using water sprayed on cardboard to get the right pattern. Hopefully ill get my 06 airbox saturday and maybe the sway bars. I might get some oem nismo floor mats.

I used my spare keyfob from my 05 Maxima and programmed it to work on the Zed. Niiiice.

My gas gauge doesnt read accurately. when I fill the tank with gas on a reads half full and then after I've driven about 80 miles the gas gauge reads empty which is a little scary but I know there is plenty of gas in it and I just keep track of how many miles. Is this a typical problem with the 350z?

Mine does the same thing, there are two fuel sensors and they're reading incorrectly, at very least one is bad. They're about $85 each iirc.

Be sure to post pics after. I could never move from idle in a convertible, just some kind of instinct, maybe it'll change when I'm older. I am interested in the build though, definitely keep updating. Are you planning any performance mods? The mileage would worry the hell out of me as well.

I like the direction your going with this build, those 20's looked cheap and killed the look of the car. I wasn't a big fan of the nismo z at first but it grew on me quick, so much so that I have an original nismo v3 front bumper on my Z now. Good luck, in for more pics!

Performance mods.....I dropped in a K & N air filter today. I was considering the 06 air box but the one I found the guy wants $200 which is a little more than I want to spend for something that will give me questionable performance. I may do an intake spacer and maybe high flow cats. If I do spacer and cats, id probably have ecu reflashed. I wouldn't mind a bit more performance but I do not want to sacrifice noise or comfort.

If anyone can give me feedback on high flow cats I would appreciate it

Regarding the nav door......be really careful with aligning it into the dash opening to avoid interferences, and look for wear in the gear mechanism if you get that far into it. I had to fab a stop in the gear train to tell the door it was closed, otherwise it would open and close repeatedly on its own, or it would think it was open when it was closed.......plastic gears.

In for results. You should call it the 2015.5 Nismo Z. Available in automatic AND convertible.

I have an 08 air box, I'm planning on upgrading to Takeda's soon if you're interested in the stock ones. They work fine and apparently work nearly as well with K&N but I need the "aftermarket filter look" appeal as well. College chicks

Pic of the V1 spoiler painted but sitting on the trunk higher than if it were bolted down:

I like the spoiler.

Painted front bumper:

I need more paint for the bumpers as I only got 1+ coats on and Id like 2+ coats. The plus means a solid coat rather than light coat. Ill do light wet sand (800-1000 grit) before applying the second coat. Then Ill clear them and do 1000 to 2000 grit sanding and then polish. Im hoping for next weekend.

I still need mesh for the rear bumper. I should have installed some before painting but whatever.

I found an original muffler from an 08 NIsmo Z that I may acquire. Its a bit pricey but it may free up a horsepower or two and its a bit more aggressive sounding.

Im still researching on how to get the audio buttons of the Nismo steering wheel to work with a factory radio.

I may have the Hotchkis sway bars this coming weekend.

I believe only the s-tune nismo exhaust frees up power, search there's a thread comparing them. I bought a replica s-tune exhaust sounds great and looks good for the price.

This is no ordinary steering wheel:

This steering wheel is from a Nismo Z as shown by the red stitching:

I also received the protection plate which goes under the front splitter.

Today I bought some white LEDs that fit in place of the amber reflectors near the bottom of the front bumper. That should give it a more updated look. Im hoping for some time to get a second coat of paint on the bumpers and then clear coat this weekend. Im still looking for good mesh to go on the rear bumper. I thought about painting the mesh red as an accent color since the interior has red accents.

I say paint the mesh dark gray or black. A "nismo" roadster is going to stand out enough, it won't need attention grabbers like bright accents. Just my 2 cents

Thank you for the feedback on the idea of an accent color for the mesh. again it was just an idea but Black is probably the best way to go. I talked to a guy who is selling some black headlights with LED accents.I'm sure these headlights are not everyone's cup of tea but they are my cup of tea.
