When opening my wife's 2004 350z roadster's top it starts to open, stops, and then only by repeatedly pressing the switch will it eventually open the top in 6 or 8 repeated pressings. The top always closes perfectly with only one press of the switch. A friend manipulated the original switch with his fingers and the top opened right up. The switch was then replaced by the dealer with no change.

The problem happens every time, starting when the top is just lifted a few inches. Repeated pressing gain a few inches each time. There isn't time for any motor to get hot, and the top closes perfectly. Does anyone have any idea what is going on? Any ideas would be helpful.
