I am discouraged about getting my soft top on my 2007 350z to open and close normally. I only drive the car with the top down, so if I can manually open it, I will leave it open and store it in a garage. I have seen a video on YouTube where the top was opened manually. But the problem, according to the presenter, is that the cover or storage lid, can't be re-locked. So, the car cannot be driven normally.

My question is, is it possible to manually open the soft top and safely leave it open permanently? Where can I find the information on how to do it?

 

Found this in the RF section of the FSM. Personally, I've never tried it...





If you're just going to leave it open indefinitely, I guess you could remove the entire top mechanism for, you know, weight savings. Because racecar.
