Default Air Conditioning on the Roadster

Was driving home from work in the valley today (it was like 90 degrees outside) and noticed more today than on prior days that my AC, after its turned off, smells horrible, much like tar. Anyone else having this problem or can identify it?

Also, just a note, had my top replaced due to the holes, but there is a screw, either in the area where the top goes, or in one of the tubes in the roof. Annoying, but I have no time to take it back to the dealer.

my roadster hasn't done it yet, but i had a coupe that did this very same thing... i had to leave the ac turned on all the time because it smelled so bad... i took it to the dealer and they took some kind of deoderizer to it and it fixed it for a while, then it started to come back again, but i sold the car and that was it... my advise would be take it to the dealer and tell them you don't want it back till it's fixed... it seems like that's the only way you get anything done properly with shops these days.

i took my roadster in to get a "clunk" from my rear end fixed (when i went over large bumps)... when i picked it up the service dude told me one of the rear tires was low on air?!?!?! i said fine, took it over one speed bump and sure as sh*% it was still there. next time it goes in, i don't want it back unitl it's gone.

My AC stinks. I don't use it too much, but if I use it and don't let it "air out" before I turn off the car, it'll stink the next time I get in (definately tar-like). It goes away after the A/C has been running for a few minutes.

I also have the same problem. If I turn the AC on and then turn it off it will smell of tar. I have stopped using AC which if fine but I will need it in the summer.

Admittedly the tar smell has diminsished since I first got the car. I'm hoping that it goes away entirely.

hmmm, doesn't sound right. I never had that problem myself. If it doesn't go away after a couple of months I would definitely take it to the dealer for a fix.
