Since there's been so much debate about what to use on our tops, I haven't treated it at all yet. I did find this interesting thread
http://www.350zfrenzy.com/forum/show...?threadid=3520
and someone there makes a good case for using fabric treatment, which means that I'll be using the Raggtopp protectant I bought after all. I'll let you know how it goes.

I've used the Raggtop stuff on mine and it worked great. One tip is to apply it in thin multiple coats otherwise it will leave white clumps of the stuff.

Max,
The problem I have at this point is that our owners manual specifically refers to our top as CLOTH. I think I'd be better off following Nissan's instructions and blame them if there's a problem rather than blaming a third party company.

I guess there are good points for both sides.
The manual does refer to the top as cloth, but doesn't cloth just mean weave. Cloth doesn't mean canvas (to be Canvas it has to be made from cotton). From who I have spoken to at Nissan and Haartz, our top is a synthetic weave (nylon based).
My buddy has a 98 Miata and has never used any products on his top and it looks great. Maybe the answer is to use nothing.

303 protectant looks awesome on the top and water beads much better than the wolfstein vinyl protectant. I followed someone's advice and used an old bed sheet to protect the rest of the car from overspray.
