Default Conv Top

How long of a life do you give that conv top before it starts breaking down (mech issues) etc.

Just curious

That's an answer that will be answered in a few years...hopefully a bit longer than that .

I had a 1995 Celica convertible that needed to have its motors replaced in 2 1/2 years. Dealer said that was pretty average. My last car, a 2001 Mitsu Spyder Eclipse is nearing 4 years old and still doesn't have any issues. The top looks just as good as the first day I got it.

With all these moving parts, I'm hoping that Nissan put the time and effort in testing and built them to high enough standards that there shouldn't be an issue for years, but until those years pass, I guess I'll just keep hoping.

Default Maintenance on top

Not to change the subject entirely, but, does anyone know about mechanical maintenance on the tops. Meaning, what kind of lubtication should we use on the metal hinges and joints?? Also, is there anything else on the mechanisms that we should be doing to make sure it lasts??
