You should have done more research before powdercoating forged wheels . . . the heat during the powdercoating process will weaken your forged rims. I hope your powdercoater knows what he's doing.

Who says I didn't do any research.

The place I'm having do the work does low-temp curing specifically for forged parts. They have never had a problem yet with damage or bending from prior customers (I was recommended to this place by STi guys who have had their forged BBSs done there). It's not like they are getting flash baked at 1500degrees or something.

Sorry, Couldnt wait so I followed Need Z's how-to in the photoshop forum.

I needed a situation to teach myself those steps in pshop CS2. THanks for the inspiration. Not as good as your skillz, but fun anyway. Oh, And it looks awesome...

Did not have a close-up of the OEM GT wheel from my redline, but I had a close-up on my old DB...

But do they look better than my new AME wheels? That's a tough one. I kinda miss my GT wheels, but they don't look good silver on a redline. I still have them, tires and all, so this painted GT wheel these is intrigueing.

Looks good man! Very original, and the shiny lip will complement the door handles so they won't need to be smoked.

I have been toying with the idea of getting my GT wheels painted dark gunmetal and did a potoshop mock up last summer. Except here, the door handles would need a matching repaint. The red pinstripe is on less than half of the outer lip. No final plan on whether to go with the pinstripe or not just yet; had to see how it looked. The wheel shade I like is the one on the rears, the front is a bit too dark for my taste. Didn't have time to leave the Brembos orange but when/if i get the wheels painted, Brembos will stay as-is; I love the orange.

Wheels are done!!!

I haven't picked the wheels up yet since I'm in WashDC right now, but the guy emailed me pictures. Hopefully I'll be able to pick these up Tuesday...still have to reinstall the TPMS and then have the tires remounted as well.

I think they look fantastic, hopefully they'll look good on the car.

thanks man, I think so too! Due to some recent events, I hopefully won't be forced to sell them as soon as I get them back...I want to enjoy them, dammit

I guess I'm the only one that prefers them in the factory color. The silver finish looks good on the black car.

Powdercoat looks pretty good. I would've done the lip as well.

GT rims looks hot either way! But the powdering coating gives that extra kick!

I had mine powder coated but alot of peeps on here knocked me hard for them when they were done. This picture was taken this past weekend at a photoshoot.

I have to admit I really like the way yours came out. They should definately look good on your car.
