Ok Ill give some input now. Ive used both now. My mids are still breaking in a bit I have dash pods with dls iridium mids and tweets and door pods with 6.5'' iridium midbass.
I Used to use a passive 2 way iridium both in custom kicks built by none other then Bing. They sounded great. Now im taking it to a new level if you will.
Now that i have a few hours in my car tinkering and playing around. I really like the door pods they sound great, although i think the kicks image and the stage is a bit better. Im waiting till i have a bit of extra coin and ill prob have Bing make me some Kicks for my midbass. I have to say its nice having somewhere to rest my leg again lol. Went a year and a half with no dead pedal.
I would say either way you cant lose they are both quality products and will work great its really about your preference. Good luck.

Thanks! If you plan on going with kicks again, why didn't you just use the kicks that you currently have? Or you just wanted to try something else and wanted your dead pedal back?
By the way, how much are you selling the kicks for?
I assume his old kicks had a tweeter and a mid in them. I think now he needs kicks for a mid only.

But how did the tweeter sound out of the kick panel? I would probably have to consult with bing or nazar to see what would be the best for my particular speakers while being on budget (that is... not being able to afford tweeters to be molded by the window by bing for $$)... either door pods or kick panels with tweeters in stock place (with door pods) or in kick panels (with tweeters in there as well).
But I don't know why am I asking all this as I will more than likely go with a door pod as I really don't want to give up my dead pedal! lol

10 hrs of labor at $105 per hour - $1,050. They definitely hooked me up on the labor hours and the amount per hour since it was a really big job for the entire system.
This is just for the pods by the way, it does not include re-upholstering the entire door.

Tweeter in the kicks actually sounded great. Bing will be able to help you with this and explain it better. Im just a pup in the audio game but im getting there

If the door pods are made correctly, they will not rattle at all - with or without sound deadener. You just have to make sure that they are completely sealed off from the door and are mounted firmly and securely. Having them completely overbuilt doesn't hurt either! The sound deadener is just to reduce road noise and other typical door rattle associated with metal/plastic and metal/metal contact as well as metal resonace issues.

You can always do time alignment the old fashioned way, physically. Kind of what I did by angling the passenger side speakers out more towards the driver (Sucks for passengers, but who cares).
OP sorry for the off-topic

That would be nice. I was thinking about adding another mid on the dash and maybe, maybe moving the tweets to the a-pillar. We will see what time and money allows when the time comes but a project like that wouldn't be for quite awhile.

But did you say what money allows you???? You say that after spending over $1,000 on door panels?

lol
Since then I've gone back to school so my priorities are a little different temporarily. Luckily, I'm never letting go of this car (God willingly) so I'll always be making plans to tweak it.

lol j/k bro.. enjoy!

this recession is scarring me
