Well its obvious I care......I am saying a shop does not have to post a build thread in progress for it to be in the Shop section.....it can be posted at the start ...during or at the end of the build.....I am not even talking about this thread.....I am talking about his statement of reason..

It matters for a number of reasons. XKR has a good point. No criteria have been established for starting a thread in the FI section vs the shop build section. These 2 sub forums get a lot of traffic. The mods should get together and develop a policy so it's clear to everyone where something belongs. A single person shouldn't arbitrarily be moving threads around on a whim.

Well the way it is now.....Eric and Raj both have a good point......why?? because as Raj has stated....no clear rule has been made.

One thing for sure is...my build cannot go in the shop section unless Sharif posts it himself....I post it...it stays here.....thats the only unwritten rule I know of

Nice build, Congrats .. I love those rims.

I have to agree. Its a clean install and alot of shops post finished products in the build section. I go there all the time to read about the new FI cars shops putting out and get ideas. Its easier than sifting through all the regular FI section stuff and its easy to find. Its a clean/nice build (love how you guys did the turbo timer install..) bolt on or not, and in the regular FI section it will be lost in a few days .

Isn't going from N/A to FI itself a build?!?!? i dont know about you guys, but to me it was a HUGE deal.. Either way dont want to take away from the owner and the Shop.. Congrats on both ends....

I agree here on both sides. The build is certainly a basic bolt-on application and not ground breaking, but shops do use threads like this to get their names out there and show off the quality of their workmanship (like the gauges mounted in the center console).

I like the criteria Mike suggested for deciding what section. If a member starts the thread it goes in the regular F/I section and if the shop starts it then it goes in the shop builds section.

I heard a rumor that not every Z/G owner is on this forum, and although I find that hard to believe, I suppose that occasionally a shop would want to post up a car build for a non-member of this form.

holy $hit ... stop whinning like a bunch of little girls..... its not that hard.... the "Shop builds" section is for .... oh wait... a car that a shop did a build on??... ( and that is posted by the shop). Wow....I know my degree on the wall isn't worth as much as some people but come on... I want to read about cars not a persons rant which is probably the result of a bad day at work or home!

Anyways.... Congrats on the car... appears to be another clean job from Forged!

First and most importantly this is a nice clean build that unfortunately seem to have been lost in this argument. Secondly, I agree that this should have been allowed to stay in the shop build section for a few reasons.
1. Forged(a shop)built it.
2. Shariff is running a business and part of running a business is proper advertising. There are many prospective customers on this site and one of them may be close to pulling the trigger on a kit just like or similar to this and this build showcases their ability to do an excellent clean job and they can also go down the page and see more of their work.If I'm looking for a shop I would go to shop builds and would want to se a variety of builds from that shop.
With this being a basic build it will not stay on top like, say for example, Mike's build and will end not being seen by nearly as many prospective customers as it goes further down the pages.
3. I may have missed it but I dont think the owner has chimed in and may not be on here.If that be the case we wouldn't have ever seen this build.
Clear rules would be helpful

Well in that case the thread should in regular FI (not it wont get lost right away unless it gets locked just look at the dates of the threads showing up on 1st page) and once a member builds up the car to something "more"(specially from basic) it can THEN be moved to FI-Shop builds.

That's a nice setup. I have found that I have more fun in my car at 350-400 hp than ever on high boosts.

Some of you guys really are just looking to ***** about anything.

Good job Sharif more fun cars from Forged.

It's a high 11 on our dyno. Our NTK sensor reads about .3 to .4 leaner than actual when sniffing from the tailpipe.

it isnt my intention to put the work done... but that shops should try to showcase more of their "top builds" rather than just fi car of customers that shows up. In a way i am saying that i just rather see some of the nicer builds of forged here ...and the same goes for all other shops that build threads. If its not a build(build in in the section name) engine i think it must at least have to be a pretty well moded stock block fi.

You guys were all fine with a stolen wheel thread in the FI section.

I think it is nice to see that people are getting good results from a utec / turbo kit build and encouraging for people who don't have their cars in a perma build state.

The guys motor was out of the car...that is more than a "bolt on".
