Question What amp for this sub/speakers

I have:

Sony MP3/CD player.
Four 6"+ blaupunkt speakers and tweeters (regret getting these)

and a Pioneer Premier 10" 600 watt 4ohm Dual Voice Coil Sub

I need your guys help on what amp setup I should purchase for optimal sound. If I had to do it over again I would have sprung for the MB Quarts and an Alpine deck especialy since I could have swung the MBq at cost but this is the system I am going to use for now.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Tom

There's quite a bit of choices. All are 2ohm stable. With the MTX Thunder, at 14.4V, it puts out 800 watts. 500 @ 12V.

JL 500/1
PG 600.1
Xtant 600.1
MTX Thunder 801D
MTA 6001

Thank you!
What would you do in my case?
Would you use an amp to power the speakers and the woofer or simply use an amp for the woofer and leave the speakers as-is running off teh head unit?

Power them with an external amp. The HU only puts out 25 watts rms max. It's not very clean either. Depending on which components you have, there's various setups you can go with.

EnthuZiast,

A phoenix gold would be great, especially R5.0:4.

Hint. I have one for sale. $110 shipped.

Enth,

You will need to remove the HU. Currently you don't have an amp so the HU puts out the power staight to the speakers. At this point cut the wires that put the signal out to the speakers (behind the head unit).

Run the rca(s) from the HU to the amp. From the amp you will run the speaker wires back to the HU and connect to the speaker (where you just cut) wires. Got that?

What model of Blaupunkts do you have?

Right now, I use the amp to push my infinity perfect 6.1 (front) and diamond audio (rear).

You will need some speaker wires and a diagram of the speaker wires (easily can be found here). Let me know if you need any help.

On a side note, I recently heard a friend's setup (Alipine 9833) like mine. He was using the HU's amp and it didn't sound good.

Tony

I will find out the model for you.
But I just found out my HU has no out for a sub

So I will buy a new HU and then (I guess a two channel amp?)
Sad part is I work for a Audio/Video company and I have to ask you guys about matching up the right amps etc....

Anyone know if Blaupunkts are even better than even stock?...they don't sound too great to me.

THANKS AGAIN,

Tom

Tony's idea aint a bad one but here is another option...

Phoenix Gold 900.7 this amp is money wish I knew what I know now or I would have bought this That amp will do everything you need, power subs and all your speakers with plenty of pg power. Drop the rear speakers, infact drop all those speakers, go with those mb quartz....what type of music do you listen too?

if its rap, the mbquartz are money
if its rock, think about mbquartz with resistors on the tweeters leads

specs for that pg amp:
50W x 5 (4 ohm stereo)+
400W x 1 (2 ohm bridged)
or
50W x 5 (4 ohm stereo)+
100W x 2 (4 ohm stereo)
by all accounts this is highly under rated.

Thank you for that advice! I don't listen to rap much anymore. Just about everything. Some R&B.
Most of all alternative...Linkin Park; stuff like that.

Anyone know anything about Blaupunkt speakers and what amp would work best with them?
