Default putting an lcd screen in an 04?

I just bought my 04 enthusiast last week I would like to put an LCD screen into the navi pocket or w/e you want to call it. I have done alot of searching but still have a question. If I would like to keep the same 04 part that I currently have in my car What will be the biggest size LCD screen I will be able to fit in the car? And my second question is: is it even possible to keep the cubby that I currently have in the car? Or do I have to/must I buy a 03 navi cubby from the dealer? I am on a tight budget so the $100+ I am trying to save by not buying a an 03 peice from the dealer is pretty important and can be spent on a better TV. any help would be great. Lastly can anyone give me a ball park figure of what they spent for an LCD/dvd set up and also a figure for those that installed an LCD/DVD/ and a navi unit. thanks

There are no screens that will fit inside the 04 nav compartment and be able to close the door, even with custom fabrication. Buy the 03 nav compartment and you can swap out the door and unscrew the back of it to mount the screen flush. The nice thing is that you can put it back to stock very easily. There are several screens that will fit in the 03 compartment, but its best to have it in your hands first then you can measure it.

I have an 04 touring, bought the 03 nav box and used a Sony H-65, it fits like a glove. Resist the tempation to buy the 7" Farenheight screen, they are not that good IMO.

You can install a LCD in a 04 but you would need to do some fabrication.

Alright thanks for the help I just ordered the 03 lid cluster and the finisher. It wasnt so bad as far as prices go I paid like $93 shipped. I guess I will wait to get the part and then Ill take it to my stereo parts store and start measuring up different screens to see which has the best fit and looks the best.

the biggest screen that u can fit, so it can sit flush without the shutter would be a 7' monitor.

i currently have a 7' monitor in my 04' touring............

i dont like the idea of having a screen with out the door, letting the whole world see it when you go out.

the screen will be stolen in a few days if you dont have anythin to conceal it

I love my farenheit screen, the only thing I would trade it for is a xenarc, and as soon as I build my pc, I will.

why would u put the sony when u can put the xenarc and not lose any screen space ? as u can see in the pic, the sony case sticks out like sore thumb, as opposed to the xenarc which sits flush

I would have bought an alpine screen, but I liked the color of the Sony (i know it sounds gay) , but it matched my frost interior pretty well, and looks real close in color to the face of the 5210 DVD and my PPI amp.

I'm thinking about adding NAV and a back up camera this spring, so I'll swap it out with an alpine tme m770 touchscreen if I do that.

I'm not familair with the xenarc screen. Do you have a link to their website please?
