Default Rear Speaker Help

Hey guys - need some help. My factory rear speakers are no longer producing any sound (even when I fade all the way to the back). I'm planning on putting new speakers back there, but I don't want to change the factory HU. Do you guys think my problem is in the speakers or in the HU? I'd hate to have to bring this into the shop if the problem is an easy fix. Let me know. Thanks!

If its the deck, I'm screwed. I'm actaully going to install 2 6.5" subs instead of regular speakers. I'm going to have to run the HU wires into an amp to power the subs. You see my dilema. You think I should bring it into the shop? (and is this under warranty)

Most likely the deck. What are the odds that two independent speakers would fail simultaneously? Watch eBay, people sell their non-Bose head unit all the time. The last one I saw went for about $70. Most users here would tell you to use the opportunity to put in a real deck. You could spend $100 on a JVC or Pioneer unit and sound quality would improve dramatically.

But, as another poster said above, those speakers aren't doing much for you anyway - so who cares.
