Question New Mac mini for car?

I am just starting to think about adding a screen and computer to my car & I was wondering if anyone had thought about the new Mac mini?

It is only 499 & at 6.5"x6.5"x2" and 2.9 lbs it seems like a perfect system for mounting in the glove box.

Can anybody think of a reason why this wouldn't work?

it should be fine. you just need to address the power on/off issue. i've never looked into a car pc, i'd make better use of it at home as oppose to my xbox that i never play anymore.

i was thinking exact same as you.
with adding bluetooth option. you can even use keyboard/mouse wirelessly.
my basic idea is..
mac mini (bluetooth built-in) with 7" touch screen
and wirelss mouse (in case needs it).
so i can use for mp3 and dvd. since there is no gps antena for mac os x, i have to give up nav system idea.

Here's a forum with a section about Mac's (and minis) in cars.

You may also wish to check out this forum about creating a Mac mediacenter (CenterStage). If it comes together, the UI should be good for a touchscreen as well as a living room
