i went to alpine website and downloaded their 2005 catalog. they have some awesome stuff comming. new touch screen + realtime traffic info nav. and touch screen single headunit that suports dvd and dvd-mp3 cds. i was so excited looking at those.

yeah. i understand that.
i heard that 04 units have issues of speed/ key functions with ipod since 04 units are not designed for it but they said 05 units will be the first "fullly" integrated (and designed) units with ipod.

Still waiting to see if they add on a double din,, that would be awesome!

looks like they phased out the dvd changer and HDD player.

I am glad they added a din center channel speaker.

 

I don't see any new in dash screens touch screens. Are you referring to the D301? Any idea when this is comming out? I thought it was already out

it's just regular single din unit but if you look at carefully, it support dvd and has touch screen icon in the descriptions.
so i guess if you connect touchscreen and put dvd movie, this unit will let you use touch screen to control dvd...

 

Having played with the 2005 units at CES, I have to call BS on this. The 2005's did not appear to be any different or faster when using an iPod. There are other issues that may have been fixed, but speed does not appear to be one of them. And that goes for ALL manufacturers releasing iPod compatible decks.
