Talking MY bose fix

Quick overview of install… done by Sounds Great in Hoover, AL. We discussed several options, but we decided on what you see here. I kept the factory HU for looks. And, to their and my surprise, they had no problem with output signal. This installer found a harness (out of a Saturn of all things) that fit the bose harness. He custom wired it and the signal was actually a little high…. No line converters whatsoever, and no engine/background noise. About 36 square feet of dynamat extreme was installed. In the front we went with MB Quart DSD 216 components, in the rear (behind headrests) MB Quart DKD 116 6.5” coaxals. And JL 10” sub in rear hatch… (can’t remember the model of speaker- yes I’m an idiot) all powered by JL 500/5 5 channel amp. We decided to put the amp in the factory sub area in order to keep the glove box space. We discussed several options for the amp. First, some of you may have noticed that when the factory sub cover is removed, the plastic is identical to that around the glove box… there’s even a hinge, so there is an option of getting another glove box door and it would fit perfectly over this area. You would also need a latch, but it would look very clean. This is what I originally considered doing, however, they did such a good job of installing the amp, that I just couldn’t cover it up. So, I went a little crazy and let them modify the factory sub panel with a plexi panel, and put a neon tube under/above it. I know I’ll get flamed for being ‘rice’, but I don’t care. I think it’s cool. (I’m very anti-rice by the way, so even I’m surprised by this decision) and sorry to offend anyone by the term rice, I just don’t know of a better adjective. Nothing personal. Anyway, I hope this is a helpful contribution of info, and by the way, sound quality is better than I could’ve ever imagined.

Hmmm-Look nice. Not too rice. I know, it's rude to ask, but if you don't mind, and since it rhymes, what price?

Not rude at all.... and only because you rhymed.... ~$2500.00... also, they installed a 1 farad capacitor (sp) for large bass surges. It's hidden, but that alone was about $150.00. Seems like a lot to me, but what the heck... they're the pros....

What rice? If so, then you'd be missing the soy sauce and chop sticks.

IMHO... first thing i thought was "cool."

Default Sound?

It looks good, but how does it sound compared to the factory setup? Also please provide detail on the Saturn harness. Do you know what the output signal measurement is (ohms) before and after the the Saturn harness?
