Question regarding factory NAV and aftermarket headunits...
Ok, before I go buying a Z with NAV, are there any problems with me adding an aftermarket headunit? Will the aftermarket headunit cause problems with the factory NAV system?
there is a workaround, that includes using relays to get the nav voice to mute the radio. Another way is to wire a separate speaker to the nav voice and not have the radio mute when it talks, or what I did, just not have voice on the nav, because I don't use it anyway. It will still beep without the voice feature. (I actually did the second choice above, but took the speaker out later)

Thanks!
in my personal opinion, i like aftermarket all-in-one unit more than stock nav + aftermarket headunit.
you will spend 2000 for stock nav and will spend 200-2000 dollars for aftermarket headunit. then another option is buying one unit under 2000 that does touch screen nav, cd, mp3, dvd. (and nav voice is very well intergrated with speakers with no hassel)
check out eclipse unit:

if i'm totally off topic, sorry about that.

No way are you off topic. I greatly appreciate all feedback. Im not sure if stock NAV is the way I want to go, thats why I was asking as well. Im actually thinking I will go with aftermarket NAV and headunit instead. Thanks for the link.
