Suggestions on car audio
I've been thinking I want to put some new speakers in the Z. Mind you of a few things...I DON'T want the hatch to rattle, I DON'T want to be heard miles away, and I DON'T want to win/enter any audio competitions. I'm just looking for a little better quality and a little more thump. Here's what I was thinking...
JBL CS200.1 236W CS Series • 338 Watts @ 2 ohms
OR
JBL CS50.4 268W CS Series 4-Channel • 286W Bridged
-will go behind the drivers seat
JBL GTO Series GTO804 200W RMS @ 4 ohms
-will go in the nonuseable compartment behind the drivers seat (that's why I'm only going w/ 8" b/c its the only size that will fit)
JBL GTO636 6.5"s 60W RMS @ 4 ohms
-these will go behind the seats in the crappy OEM speaker locations
What do you guys think? I'm not looking to spend a lot of money here. I just want something that looks/sounds good. I'll be the first to admit that I don't know a damn thing about car audio. That said, I'm looking for a multi-channel amp to power the sub/rear speakers since the factory deck won't push anywhere near 60w RMS per 6.5" right? I've been looking for places to find basic car audio info, but I haven't found anything.

Focal 165k2p's for the front and a JL 300/2 to drive them. Plus a AlumaPro 10"sub and a 300/1 for it. Unless of course you're replacing your rears then I'd do a set of Focal 165 CA coax and 300/4 to drive the sub plus the rears. Can you tell this is my setup? . The sound is amazing. Oh, and since it appears you're keeping your factory HU, add a bass ***.
If you can afford to lose the space under your rear strut brace thats where you should place your sub (rear facing).

OK. I went to a car audio place today. They had "good" prices but I think I'm going to go w/ my buddy's friend on the other side of the state. Here is what I'm looking at.
Alpine MRV F450 5 channel amp
JL VR650Csi 6.5" composites
JL TR650Cxi 6.5" coaxials
JL 8w3v2 8" subwoofer
Installed its going to be around $1k. What do you think?
