i just got the bose "fix" and the stereo sounds a whole lot better. i seriously recommend getting this done if you have the touring and have the overboosted bass problem. the audio pilot is hardly noticeable now. i was timid about getting this done because others had said that there is no bass afterwards. i disagree on that. the bass now is evenly matched with the highs and mids. granted, it doesnt sound great (compared to my gs400), but im happy enough to just keep this system.

 

ive heard from some it killed the bass which made me a bit reluctent to repair it.

but reading your post and seeing others im gonna get it done.

try adjusting the bass and treble controls while the volume is up a bit...

You'll soon find that they hardly change the audio at all....

you may just change your mind about the 500% figure... probably more like -100%

if all else fails ill just change the speakers and the amp myself

 

yeah guess youre right. its more like 267% better!
like i said though , its still not that great, but its tolerable now.

 

500% better than crap still gives you a piece of crap that just doesn't stink as bad.....I just went aftermarket....damn should have gotten the enthusist like I originally ordered....but I didnt want to go through modification hell....welll I'm doing the mods anyway.....Damn I should have know myself better.

adjusting the bass and treble*does* make adifference as long as the volume is not so high as to make the amps clip.

However, I must admit that the differences are not HUGE.

I expect it to sound as good as the Bose does in my buddies Audi S4.
