Default New Speakers

Hey, I currently have an RSX-S right now, and in the near future I am looking to be in the market for a used Z. I love listening to music, but I hear that the stock speakers in the Z are horrible. Would it be possible/practical to just switch out the speakers with aftermarket ones, while keeping the attractive stock headunit in place.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Oh, and no I don't listen to rap, so no SUB/AMP suggestions!

Jon

It will help a bit.. If you want to keep the stock HU you can convert the output to low level RCA with a LOC and send it to a 2 channel amp (NOT FOR SUB) for the components.

The problem with the stock Bose unit is that there's a programmed equalization somewhere in the system to compensate for the poor quality speakers.

True,I wouldn't try with Bose...but if you get the base model it might be an option untiol you can afford a better head unit. I did that a couple years ago when I first got the Z.
