removal of stereo face plate
so i came home for a weekend and my dad asked if he could drive my car and i told him it was fine but what he didnt tell me was that he was going to starbucks to get coffee. Well he put it in the good cupholder on the dash and yea well he spilled it on my god damn stereo...buttons for the most part work alright but are all real sticky and hard to puch etc. Does anyone know how to take the face plate off and get to the back of the buttons? I just need to clean them out. Any info on how to remove it would be great thanks
Im pretty sure you have to take the dash apart

Once the Unit is out, then you can disassemble it and clean it up. Make sure to use rubbing alcohol to clean with, its safer for electronics.

I just changed out my HU and was wanting to remove the faceplate from the stock Blose to use for a template. Looked to complicated so I didn't even mess with it.
Its a little messy, but the you can use WD40 to clean the buttons. WD40 is made for working around electrical components. Use the spray tube and blast the gunk out from around each button. I recommend killing the power before doing it.

You might try spraying electronic contact cleaner/degreaser, that you can get a radio shack, behind the buttons.
+1 on cutting the power before spraying anything on it. Pull the fuses or better yet the neg.(-) cable on the battery.
