Default Sub Location behind the seat -READ

Hey guys. I am having my new stereo put in as we speak. Should be ready by Tuesday (will post pictures!). My question is this: I am putting in a custom fiberglass-MDF box on the left side of the spare tire (where the black spacer is) for a Boston Pro 10". Now, I am not using the space behind the seat and would like to put my HUGE Boston Z6 crossovers in there. Is there a way to remove the metal frame for the factory 10" speaker without cutting it out? Thanks in advance everyone.

I believe the frame unbolts from the rest of the enclosure. Especially since the Bose sub amp sits behind the woofer in the models that have it.

You should be able to just unbolt it, and if you wanted, to buy another storage compartment assembly and install it in that space as well if you wanted a nice, clean install space for your crossovers.

Sweet! Thanks. That extra compartment will be nice for storage of all my new stereo sh*t. The installer just put these 20 pound crossovers inside my door which made my doors heavy as crap and also makes a sort-of rattle when you close the door due to the extra weight. I am going to tell them to put the crossovers here now.

you mean like this!!!

ps. crossovers in door = bad. Cold and somewhat moist, dusty over the years....in the back is better, especially when you need to get to the crossovers for tuning....
