the books say u cannot set the clock-its from the gps signal. you can set the proper time zone through one of the setup menus.. along with DST

Is your Nav voice low, When I have the stereo cranked up and the nav voice comes on, it is so low. I tried the adjustment in the Volume section and no results. I just want to know if this is normal. It is loud when I am not playing any music.

well the voice doesnt play in the place of the music like with the lexus's or mercedez ive used, even acura. but its not terrible.. i dotn have a whole soundsystem yet so its doesnt really bother me. nor do i use the navi all that much. it was more for kinda show i wanted a double din screen and y not have the navo always on rather then have a big 103.5 lol
but i understand what u mean as of yet the voice volume doesnt really bother me.. but if u had a system and the radio was really loud i can c it being a pain in the azz

i think thats normal.
i had same issue that I can't hear nav. voice while i listen music.
i replaced my stock bose speakers to eclispe amp and aftermarket speakers. after that, i have no problem hearing voice. i think its stock amp's (or eclispe headunit's) amp speaker power issue.

yeah i have crappy non bose speakers w/ the eclipse and its kinda quiet.. only on the freeway though. basically i can't have the music too loud on the freeway or i won't be able to hear the navi clearly. the "bung bung" sounds are loud and clear though!

but you know nav. voice only says a few things. So as long as you can hear bell sound (bung-bung sound?), thats all you need. Whenever you hear bung-bung, look at the screen where to go. You really don't need to hear what she says.

The stock brackets worked for me but only 2 of the bolt holes lined up on each side instead of all 4 on each side. I'm planning on drilling the stock brackets when I install my dash kit (if it ever gets released for the 06s). Using the 2 bolts on each side has worked fine so far, though.

Here is a link to the speed pulse wire location. Paul350Z has a diagram of it on post 8.

I just bought the AVN 5435. Do you guys have a wiring diagram for me? Is there some place where I can find everything I need to know about installing the AVN. Also, is the AVN's DVD player hackable to be able to paly DVDs while driving?? If so, where to get that info?

when you take out the stock deck and center console, just behind where the speed dial sits is a ground wire grounded to the frame of the car. Ground the brake line to that. That will allow you to use DVD at all times.

When I put in my AVN5435, I tied the parking brake wire to the ground wire. The DVD thinks the parking brake is always on and works while driving.

The reverse wire will tell your gps that you're moving backward, so the gps won't get out of alignment. You should hook it up.

can someone tell me what this reverse wire looks like? I just picked up the BEC 105 camera for my avn 5435 and hooked it up, but for some reason, it does not switch to the back up camera when i reverse.

I have the manuals of both the camera and the avn 5435 handy as well. I did not do the install on the headunit but had an authorized dealer install it for me. I am not sure as to what was hooked up and what was not hooked up, but I can pull the head unit out to look behind it and connect whatever i need to .
