Default AUDIO EXPERTS: need double din faceplate!

Hi All,

After reading tons of posts I've decided to splurge on a Sony WX 7700 MDX double din headunit. I've read some of the 7700-specific posts, and some of them suggest that there is a faceplate available somewhere (Japan?) that makes this unit a perfect fit into our 350Z's.

What's the scoop? Does anybody have firsthand knowledge of this? Where can I find this part?

Thanks in advance!

PS: Anybody with the 7700, please post with your thoughts!

I'm not really sure about the Sony DD Units as we do not sell them where i work, but we do sell Kenwood DD units that fit like a glove using Metra's Installation kit for the 350Z. This kit comes with both standard, and DD mounting options and is a better quality kit then Scosche's unit. METRA is a company that should be easy to find online. I hope that i was some help.

Sorry, wish i could help you out but i'm located in Hawaii. Stick with the Metra kit though. It's one of the stonger, more complete kits on the market.

I heard the double-DIN faceplates that are only available in Japan are by Eclipse. I saw pictures... they look really sweet..

I got the nissan one from the place in Japan, they mailed it. The color is the same grey as the dash. fits good. It is a NISSAN part because the WX was an optional factory radio. Japanparts.com.

You have to email them with the part number, and they will email back cost etc.
Do a search on here, the part number has been posted in the past.

I'd like to thank everyone for their input. This forum is great!

I found this in an older forum post:

"Yes I just emailed Japanparts.com referencing the part. <For 350Z>
*68105-CD000 Audio Finisher[1]: price is 1,150JPY
Its not on their site. Email them with a request."

I also found this:

http://www.audiowarehouseexpress.com...402/detail.asp

I'll try Japanparts first, because I've read that their part looks more "stock".
