nav-dvd
the stock unit will not play DVDs. You will have to buy some type of converter, there are several posts about it, just do a search, and you will have to have another DVD player (like a PS2 or XBOX or something). I looked into one from tvandnav2go.com or somethin like that and their unit was $225, not worth it to me, I'd rather do performance mods, although cool if you've got the $$$.
its called navbox. its a coversion kit for around $160. you will also need a good fm modulator. cost around $35. next you will need an xbox cost around $150. next is the power inverter (get one with a built in power filter) cost around $85. get a seperate power filter to power your fm modulator and coversion kit, cost around $15. you can stop there if you want, but to get the full potential of it, you need to mod your xbox. cost: $150-$350 depending on which route you take. install, fairly simple but you will have to tap into the stock nav video harness right behind the nav dvd player (RBG wire). so you need to know what your doing when it comes to wires.
oh, and dont forget a router to transfer data from your computer to your xbox. cost: $40+
still less expensive then getting a dvd system in your car AND you have the benifit of playing games (keyword is emulators), watching movies, watching music videos, and listening to music. to top it all off, you can have them all saved on your xbox's hard drive. but no, you dont get local tv channels on it.
do i sound like a comercial? lol.
OMG, i spent too much money doing this! ah, it was worth it.
ps: you might want to look into something called "NoNag". install this and you wont ever have to push the "i agree" button ever again. cost: $60. expensive yes, but i got annoyed after pushing that button 300+ times.

there was another quick mod for that. you would have to tap into one of the speed sensor from the nav, not sure where its located, and connect it to a switch. this way you can toggle the switch to allow you to use the nav while your driving.
you might get lucky with a search.
