did anyone here just drill through the metal in the door to mount the speakers? i currently have aftermarket 6.5" speakers attached to 1" spacers and and the triangle mounting bracket that came along with the speakers (infinitys). this plastic triangle mounting bracket looks very similar to the factory one, however, the measurements are off just a little so i'm not able to mount it using the 3 factory bolts. saw a similar post and that person went to best buy to purchase that adapter. i went there last night and they said they don't carry that stuff and told me to just drill through the metal in the door. any suggestions or help will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I don't see a problem drilling through the door metal. After you're done drilling, run a magnet along the inside of the door to pick up your shavings. It's only a couple small holes, right?
