To much info, can someone help me out!
5 years ago I was in the loop when it came to car audio. I think technology has passed me by in the knowledge departement. I don't have the time to become an expert again so I am looking for some guidance on what I need to make the system I want.
Here is what I have. 2006 Touring, Bose 6 disc changer with stock sub. No Nav system.
What I want: A LCD screen. A dvd player. Sirus radio. I would like to keep the stock bose head unit if possible, but I am not set on that. I would like to upgrade the mid range speakers and install a sub in front of the strut bar (JL 10w6). I don't know if I should remove the stock bose sub when doing this.
My budget is as much as I want to spend. Not looking for top of the line sh#t, but I don't want to buy junk.
Could someone explain my options her and suggest what components I should get.
Thanks, all!

Dang lots of questions.
You need to lose the Bose stock sub-whimper.

The other speakers aren't quite that bad.
You can go with a navigation cubby screen like the Farenheit 7000 to connect to a 12 VDC DVD player mounted behind the seats. Interfacing the sound from the DVD into the stock head-end is going to be an issue. There are expensive adapters depending if you had the cassette. Since it's really doubtful you'll install a Dolby ProLogic decoder I'd just run with an FM adapter - the ones that jack into the cable are much better than those that go through the antenna.
Satellite radio has the same issue with interfacing to the stock radio.
Why not just dump the "wonderful" Bloze radio with it's equalization, microphone that destroys the sound, and no external inputs? The bloze equalizes the sound of their headend to match the "quality of their speakers" so that even if you replace them with real speakers they're still not going to sound right. The microphone "listens" for noise and adjusts the equalization - not the volume - to distort the sound. Trying to jack both a DVD and a satellite radio signal into the thing isn't possible.

You could drop a DVD/Navigation/Satellite radio in there with external input abilities for iPods or the like. And end up with a system far better than trying to jury rig the stock unit.
Don't be in a rush. Do this right the first time.

-alpine 9860 dvd/cd player in the dash
-Farenheit 7000 in the cubby
-sirus or xm off the alpine
-Boston Acoustic Pro up front to set the stage and their co-ax in the rear
-JL Audio 10w6v2 Subwoof as you already planned
-JL Audio 500/1 to power it
-JL Audio 300/4 to power the Bostons
-Sound Damping Material of your choice
-Upgraded Battery (Optima Yellow Top) is my battery of choice
-2 Farad Cap
I would mount the amps like paul did his behind the drivers seat in the stock sub location.
Just my idea, just keep looking through this section and you will find lots of great ideas.
