So i picked up the following to add to my sound system for xmas:
1. JL e1800d mono amplifier (runs about 1000watts rms)
2. JL 300/4 amplifier
3. Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 components for the front
4. Infinity 6012i coax's for the rear
5. Custom sub box/amp rack for trunk /w built in blue LEDs (has not arrived yet)
6. Mike's (Zenclosures) speaker spacers

Here are some kappa perfect pics (WARNING: do not mount the crossover in your door like in the picture below, i had to move it from that position because the door would not fit back on!)

Here is a pic of the custom cubby i built myself, just finished it tonight!

Lit with some blue LEDs

Xbox temporarily in the glove compartment

I know there are going to be questions so i'm going to try to address some things first.
Where did i end up mounting my crossover? They were mounted on the lower back part of the door (when i say back i mean closer to the rear of the car on both doors). I used fatmat to mount them by cutting 4 holes in the fatman, running zipties through the holes and then running the zipties through the 4 screw holes on the crossovers. Absolutely no rattle and they are on there solid!
The cubby hole/amp rack:
I took one of the bose 10" sub grill covers and cut the whole grill section out with a jigsaw. Then i cut a peice of plexiglass i bought from home depot to match the hole and used the special plexiglass glue stuff to secure it on. I had to do a lot of trimming of plastic on the backside of the panel with a razor in order to get it to fit flush. The amp rack is a peice of mdf wood covered in thick vinyl. I laid the whole cubby hole with newspaper then sprayed 2 whole cans of hilti expanding insulation foam along the bottom of the cubby to create a floor that is light and solid. I laid the wood covered in vinyl over this. I mounted 2 neon lights on both sides of the amp and have them wired to a switch that you can see that is on the outside of the plexiglass.
The xbox is modded, has about 6000 mp3s and probably 50-100 music videos on it, in my opinion it is 100x better than an ipod or anything like that. It's hooked up to some cheap sony flip out 7" screen i bought a while ago. The xbox is going to be put on an amp rack in the front trunk region along with the e1800d as soon as i receive them from the builder.
I'll take more pics when i finish fully assembling the car with the rest of the neons and putting everything in the right spots.
Hope you guys like it,
Alex
