Default JL Audio 6.5 Components Fitment

Sup boys,
Looking into upgrading my speakers. Seriously looking at the JL audio line of components and wanting to put in 6.5's. Wondering if I'll have fitment issues when installing in terms of mounting depths. TIA

Thanks dude. I'm guessing you used the spacers from the stock speakers?

that or you ca make your own or buy plastic pre fab ones.

if you are going to use an amp to power them, i highly recommend the jl xr 6.5 coaxial its an excellent spekaer nd the single install location down int he door makes the whole thing sound better not to mention eaier to install

So you would recommend a coaxial set up up front rather than a component set up? Would that give me better imaging. See I have a Kenwood DDX 8017 w/ 5.1 surround sound and wanna get the best imaging as possible w/o having a center chanel right now.

to be honest, i am personaly always a fan of a coax versus a component for most purposes. to me, a point source speaker like a well desinged coax is easier to get good sound out of than a component set. and in the instance of the Z, with such a nice good lower door location, i personally would go with the coax so both the tweet and the mid can be at the same spot in the lower door location.

so yeah, from an imagine stand point that would be my way of doing things.

if you get a component set, you can do the mid the door, and the tweet in the kick panel

but if you are doig a true 5.1 ser up, a center channel is definetly the best way to go
