w7 vs stealthbox
in all honesty, they should sound about the same in terms of output, in s atraightout SPL drag, i would put my money on the 2 w3s, simple matter of more swept area
the w7 MAY, i emphasize MAY, be able to go a little deeper, and be louder at say sub 20hz...but its a toss up...
peroanlly, iw ould go with whcih ever one costs less, and look better to you

well i have the w7 but still have to get a box made . i can afford to get the stealthbox but just wonderign which one is better? i want some real loud bass and that i can feel it to, right now i have the w7 and 500/1 in my closet, so will the w7 hit harder than the w3's?

... anyhow ..keep the W7. It looks nicer, has phenomenal output potential and sounds spectacular when installed properly.
Plus ... telling people you have a W7 is much more impressive than a pair of w3s.

2 X 10w3v2-d4 XMAX=.58 in, SD=107 in2, volume displacement=62in3
1 X 10w7 XMAX=.91 in, SD=59.8in2 volume displacement=54.2in3
2 W3's will move more air. I think the W3's is the way to go.. less money also.

but youa re saying displaced air equals low bass? meaning if a sub displaces more air, it automatically means its deeper?
thats a pretty generic statement dont you think?
what would have higher spl at 10hz?
I. a 10" sub with an xmax of 25mm with a FS of 50 hz (yeah i know such a sub doesnt exist, but it could be done), or a 10" sub with an xmax of 20mm with a FS of 15hz? both in the identical enclosure space of 1 cub feet say?
2. two 10w3v2 in a ported ecnlosure tuned to 100hz, or 1 10w7 in a sealed enclosure? both built to spec.
i know these two are hypothetical questions, but my point is, the design of a sub other than simply mechanical excursion, as well as the enclosure, have alot to do with how deep a sub goes. whcih ia msure you know .hehe
but, as to why i said one 10w7 MAY (again, emphasis on MAY) go deeper, is this:
i am figuring that with two 10w3s, he will be forced to give each sub towards the lower end of the recommend enclosure space. where as with a single 10w7, it can get all the space it wants.
so my question for you is:
whcih of these will be louder at 10hz?
two 10w3v2 in a sealed enclosure each having .65 cubft each
or
single 10w7 in a sealed enclsoure having 1.25-1.5 cubft
take jl's data, and plug it into your box program and see...
again this is all in good humor, i just wanted to make sure that i wasnt intentionally being contradictive.
