Default After Market Sub in Factory Bose Spot

I have a '03 Touring with the Bose System and am looking into getting an after market sub to replace the Bose factory sub. I had my friend who is a certified audio electronics installer to take a look at the space where the factory sub is and asked him about what would fit in there. i told him that i was interested in putting a JL 10w6v2 to replace the factory Bose p.o.s. I was just wondering if anyone else has done this to their car or if this would even work. It looks like the compartment behind the ub would be big enough for the air requirements and all it would need is a bit of liquid nails to seal it properly. I guess if it's not feasible then i can always go with an under strut box......Any help would be great. Thanks.

You need more than liquid nails. There's a huge hole in the side of it as it passes through to the passenger's side. You'd have to at least build a wall out of MDF or something. There is a CAD pic around for box dimensions to fit in there, or you could go with the Infinity Basslink to fit in there. I originally wanted to fit my sub in there as I use my trunk a lot. However, I finally settled on an understrut box, figuring that I could take it out and through it in the front seat should I actually need the space for storage.

well besides the fact that you are right about sealing the area, the main thing i was concerned with was whether or not the sub would actually fit...any suggestions?
