hey guys i just purchesed an "exact" plud and play sirius sat. radio and i am having problems with the reception in the z. i have the antenna stuck on the strut bar and still the reception is choppy (goes in and out all the time). if it matters. i did not install the radio in the center cubby or under my aftermarket radio. it is sorta just chillin' there on the passenger seat. what do you think is wrong and how can i fix it?? thanks/

In order for your satellite receiver to work it has to have a clear view of the southern sky. Tinted windows that use metalic dyes in their tint will also block the signals. If you park your car facing north in an empty parking lot what does the radio sound like? Open the hatch and does the signal meter change or does the sound quality get better?

i have no tint on my car. the reception just breaks all the time. does it matter if the antenna is going from the unit (which is on the passenger seat) over the rear console and the the end stuck on the strut bar? (i know it is not neat and wires are everywhere but, it should work fine right??

The wire's location shouldn't matter within reason.

Is the reception good at any time?

If the antenna isn't mounted setting it on the roof for a test ought to clear up that issue.

does the length of the antenna wire have any factor in reception quality?
