Default Component Wiring

Well everything (but my components) are in now so I'm going to buy my wiring/fuses/etc.

What guage are you guys using for components? 12, 14, 16, 18?

Gauge depends on power. The best fidelity needs a high strand count (>60). I used 16g blue twisted pair monster, so no routing crosstalk worries. Autos need higher temp insulation and durability so don't use home wires.

These are available at radio shack.

anyhting 16 guage and up should be fine for a short car like the Z, and if you are not sending say 200 watts plus per channel

Considering the high labor value don't compromise a great install with mediocre wires or anything else.

You appreciate >16G being vague. If a generic 14G cable runs zip tied to a high power wire in a good system there is a noticeable difference . High strand 14G installed properly has no difference. Since you do great installs they sound the same.
