I was planning on installing an Alpine 9835 HU in my 05 Z using a Scosche harness. I've heard that if you don't connect the antenna amplifier correctly, your radio reception sucks. I did a bit of forum searching and found a wiring diagram from the 03 service manual here . I also found this thread which says, among other things:

1. The green wire with the white stripe (the antenna amp wire) on the factory harness should line up with the blue wire on the aftermarket harness.

2. All wires, including the power antenna wire, must be connected.

I'd like to know is if there is any significant differences between the 03 and 05 models when it comes to this area. Is the antenna amp wire a different color, etc? Is the 03 wiring diagram from above still valid for 05 models?

 

I've got the '05 and my amplifier works just fine after following those instructions.

 

It must definitely be a little tricky, because the last two head units I had installed - by different shops - both had horrible radio reception when the job was done. Both times I had to bring the car back and have them fix it.
