Opinions on D-DIN headunits
I am in the market for a new head unit. It must be a double-DIN and have considering the following; Alpine, Kenwood, Eclipse and possibly Clarion (not sure if i wish to wait till summer)
I am most interested in the best sound quality with IPOD integraiton and do not really wish to have navigation. (my Z is not a daily driver)
So... what do you all think? I have considered the older Eclipse AVX2494 but think it may be a ltille dated?

I have the Kenwood with an Ipod adaptor and I love it although I havent worked out whether you can display the artist yet (I can only see the track name on screen).
It really depends if you want a DVD / LCD screen too.
FWIW personally I think tracks ripped at a higher transfer rate sound a bit better.
I believe Clarion are releasing a DDin unit soon to compete with the Kenwood.

The brand new Kenwood DPX-301, 501, or 701 series. The 701 isn't available yet, but here's a link to the 501 already for sale at Crutchfield (among other e-tailers):

Thanks everyone.. I have my eye on the Alpine IVA-W200 but cannot get over the fact the unit only has 2 volt pre-outs. My current Alpine CDA-7995 at least has 4 volt pre-out.
What do you all think... Is it a big deal? maybe time for a change? DVD is okay, but truly do not wish to have NAV. To me... I would rather be lost driving my Z listening to tunes.
I guess there is a part of me that is reluctant to change. I have had nothing but Alpine and always appreciated their great sound and product.

I have the older Kenwood 7017 and love it. I load about 50 cd's worth on one DVD MP3 so I have no need for a changer. I'm hoping the Bluetooth adapter thats coming out will work with mine, you plug it in to the changer port and you can make and receive phone calls and dial using the touchscreen it comes with a tiny mic you clip to the visor.
