Japanese NAVI screens!!! OMG
ok look at these toyota japanese nav systems! they do dvd satellite navigation w/ 3d set up, are prewired for a reverse camera, TV, am/fm tuner, amp, 3 digital decks in one, CD-Text capability, 6.5-8" displays, and touchscreen, and they handle DVD, CD, CDR, CDRW, WMA, MiniDisc, Mp3, and some have hard disk drives in them. OMG why don't we have this stuff in the US??? Hopefully the link will work and altavista will translate it into "Engrish" for you...

yeah, I saw a demo while in tokyo 2 month ago. That is super nice, its like a 3d game, and your cars in it. But its super expensive. The harddrive ones are like 3-4K. Man, every car in japan has a LCD screen in there car with either nav or TV.

Ive seen a headunit here in the states that looks like those, it has tape and cd behind the screen and will decode dvd, vcd, and mp3. somewhere in the ballpark of 800 bucks plus shipping, and being double din will fit the Z perfectly, unfortunately, having a screen so low on the dash would be very inefficient....

well i dont need all those bells and whistles but i love the fact that it takes so many different types of media - i want dvd navi that takes cd-r and mp3 and has cd-text and i'm happy. if they had a din unit like that, a din cd changer (so you can fill up both dins) and then u attach a separate monitor, it would be wonderful!
