Need help for DIN trim panel

I've got 06 base Z and I'm thinking of replacing the headunit.

If I want to replace with 1Din head unit, do I need to buy a DIN trim panel?

Yes you do, but the '06 dash kits are not available yet. There are many threads on that here.
