Default Nissan Japan stereo Frame for double din HU's

Double din stereos are very popular in Japan. If you walk in a car audio shop you will see 30 or more. Nissan makes a frame that matches the 350Z panel and fits to standard double din aftermarket stereos.

Japan Part number
The part code is 28074 and the part number is 68105-CD000. It costs about $10.00

I will be going to Japan in two weeks. I can pick up some of these frames if anyone wants one. I don't have any intentions of profiting by this, but would like to cover some costs. Let's say $15.00 including shipping.

I will pick up 6 to start. So it is first come - first serve for these 6.

Please let me know if you're interested. I'll give you more information later.

A double din is twice as tall as a regular head unit. It basically fills up the whole stereo opening.

For pictures, look at any of the threads discussing the Sony WX-7700MDX.

You can find double din HUs here in the US but they are not common. Most of the styles here are old Japan styles from 5-6 years back.

Personally, I think double dins look very nice if you have the room. Most single dins just don't look up to date. And who wants the little box underneath them. Especially in a stealth looking 350Z interior.

Is there any easy access web site to order these double din frames online?

Would like to upgrade but stay with a double din HU...this frame might keep me in the DD arena.

Ken

Default 8 replies so far - pick up next week

OK. I've had 8 replies. I'll be in Japan next week and plan to pick these up then. I'll then post a picture and have you all send your checks so I can send these out to you.

Default OK. I'm picking them up this week.

I'll be picking these up this week. I think there have been about 14 people ask for them. I have tried to answer everyone's requests. I will check all the PMs and this thread for anyone who wants one and send you info on how to reimburse me for the costs. Again, I'm expecting it to be about $15 including shipping. I'll get in touch with everyone around the middle of next week after I get back.

It looks very similar to the post by KJ-350 but there is nothing inside. KJ-350's picture shows a Japan version single din stereo option. It is meant to wrap around a double din (double high) HU.

This single version stereo is an option on the 350Z for people who plan to replace their stereos with aftermarket (usually DD) stereo HUs.

Now, I can check to see if they have a single din frame that would look just like the one in KJ-350's post for anyone who is looking for an alternative to the Metra kit.
