Default Painted 03 Nav Cubby Cover To Match 04-05 Center Console

As many of you 04-05 owners who switched to a 03 nav cubby to hold a LCD screen know, the dark grey color of the 03 nav door is lighter than the black center console. I thought about switching the covers (as a few on the board have done) but it will require some modifications which I was not confident would last for daily use. I went ahead and just painted the 03 nav door with a black spray paint for vinyl. The color match was pretty close...about 90% imo. The paint is slightly duller so I added a coat of an Armor-like plastic protectant. The paint is also fairly durable and does not smudge or scratch easily. There are still minor variations in the curvature and the texture but now the diffrence is not really noticable. I left the button unpainted since the titanium finish kinda matches the kenwood HU. Here are the before (left) and after (right) pics.

That looks pretty good ... probably would have thought it was an 04-05 cubby if it wasn't for the button you left unpainted, which does look cool because it matches the HU. Nice...
