Default Kenwood DDX-6019 Signal Quality

I just recently installed my DDX-6019 into my '03 Touring, and I am slightly disappointed that the signal quality is very poor. In Orlando, I can only catch about 5 stations on the SEEK and when tuning into the station, 3 of my favorite stations are about 60% of what it should be.

I know the antenna is hooked up because I used the antenna wire as the radio ground so if it becomes disconnected, it will turn off.

Does anybody else experience this problem?

Mine is pretty good...did you connect the blue antenna cont. wire from the headunit to the Green/White wire on the OEM harness? If you did not, the anntenna amp will not turn on.

It's the antenna wire. Several other people on this site have had the same issue.

Glad that fixed it for you.

Since you searched DDX-6019 you were limited to that particular model.
Kewood has had at least two other models that people on this board are using. DDX-7015 DDX-8017 and possibly more. they are all pretty much the same just newer models and eXcelon vs. Kenwood.
