I thought it would be cool to keep it out of sight. Anyone try this yet?

Impossible - there's simply not enough depth behind the cubby. Without the use of an air hammer and a chisel you're not going to get more than 2-3" worth of radio in there. Right behind the cubby there's a second layer of black ABS plastic which help hold the two sides of the dash together. There are a few holes/slots in there but I'd be afraid to split the thing in half for fear of weaking the dash structure too much.

 

Thanks for the fast reply. I havent taken the dash a part yet so I didnt know that. I thought that might be the case. I guess Ill just put it on the bottom.
