06 dash kit..................
Come on people...it's not like you have to tell them you want it. They WILL make it, it's just a matter of time until it's available.
If you can't stand your stock stereo do what I did, use an 03-05 kit, sure it has a few gaps but mechanically it fits fine and it's not like it's gonna be hard to swap it as soon as the one for '06 comes out.

My '06 goes in to Tweeter tomorrow to have its system installed, which is driven by an Alpine CDA9857 (single-din) head unit. When I went in last week to set everything up with the installer, I told him that there was no dash kit out for the '06 from metra, AI, schosche, etc, and he didn't believe me that the dash had changed. As we all know it HAS changed and he did a quick test-fit to prove it to himself. Anyway he called up A.I. an inquired about their kit, and they said they have not even finished the prototype, and we should not expect to see anything in the shops until late-summer at the earliest. So for $75 extra I am having them make a custom piece, based on the '03-'05 kit, to fit my head unit. What's an extra $75 to have my system installed right now so I can enjoy it all summer and have perfect fitment (fingers crossed...) from the get-go? Not to mention I will have a one-of-a-kind dash kit ( I know, who cares). I believe any reputable shop can use the existing dash kits as a template to create a custom molded piece for a reasonable price, so the question becomes whether or not the money outweighs the wait time. It was a no-brainer for me.
But I agree, it is absurd that this car has been on the market since October 2005 (I think???) and they have not even finished a prototype yet. I would have much rather paid $20 for an A.I. kit that fits perfectly, but unfortunately that's not in the cards right now.
