Default Should I disconnect the tweeter on the rear speakers?

I am in the middle of my system upgrade... Noticed that the factory speakers does not have a tweeter. I will be using 6.5 MB quart coaxials (DCC-116). Should I go ahead and clip the wires to the tweeter. I will be replacing the front speakers with MB quarts components, wich hava a pretty good size tweeter.

I have been taking my time doing the installation plus the garage is to cold (19 today) to continue but i will be posting some pics.

Thanks for the comments

Exclamation NO!

Doing that will screw up the impedance load of the coaxial and will also change the power handling. It's a bad, bad idea. Very bad. Bad.

I agree - definitely not. If you do not wish to have highs from the rear I suggest you sell the coaxials and get a midrange or midbass. You may even make some money on the deal. If you have nice components up front you should be able to safely eliminate the rear speakers all together as a sub will provide any needed rear fill.

Thanks for the feedback... I will not disconnect the tweeter. This weekend I will be installing the rest of the system with the rear speakers and will see how it sounds.
