The Boston's (good price), Dynaudio (a little expensive), and Diamond Audio (middle of the other 2 for price) are all good speakers. I also prefer the smoother sound of a soft dome, silk or composite tweeter. A metal dome tweeter is a little "bright" I think, but that is a personal prefrence.

Also, unless you go 5.1, I would ditch the rear speakers, or seriously reduce the power to them (factory uses a 32ohm rear speaker, essentially sending less than a 1/4 the power to the rears that fronts get). I am not sure of the 1/4 because I do not know if the fronts are 4 or 8 ohms, but you get the point. They will over power the fronts, when I competed years ago, I never used rears, except in one system and that was for slight rear fill in a large car. The rears in the Z will completly destroy the front sound stage (especially were they are and how small the car is), when you go to a concert does the music come from behind?

One last thing, I would not use the factory mounting location for the tweeter, it is too far away from the mid....

I competed for a few years in RTSA competitions in my truck setup with MB Quart/PPI/JL/Audio Control/Clarion equipment.

I am a HUGE MB Quart fan...

Until now.

THE most amazing components I've heard to date are the new Boston Acoustics Z6's. They almost make the Pro's sound flat (which is hard to believe). The Pros sound a lot like the Quarts.

If you can afford'em, do the Z6's, you will not regret it. I think they MSRP for $1000/pair.

Default Boston is nice

The Dynaudio's and the Bostons are nice picks. I know you can get the Boston 6.5 pros shipped for $ 272. That's a great price. I heard the Boston Z6's and flipped!!! They are expensive but I like them better than the utopias or the MB Q's. The Pro 6.5's are a great deal and sound terrific!

The CDT HD series have good midbass as well as very smooth sounding set overall. They can be found on ebay for around $200 brand new. MB quart Q series is also another great set for around $300. Good midbass, midrange but the tweets can get a little out of hand. Canton Pullman also make great comp set that can be found for $300. But you can't go wrong if you choose Focal Utopia or Dynaudio, they both are nice. If u are looking into the $500-600 range, see if you can spot a set of AVI BSM series. The tweeters are the best I have heard even compare to utopia or dynaudio. I have used them all.
