Need Help. Audio Setup not enough bump?
I recently decided to upgrade my sound system in the car however keep the stock 6 disc changer. I purchased a 10" Apline Type R, Apline V Power (600watt amp, i believe) and a understrut custom enclosure. The problem is... im getting little to no thump from the sub.. even at volumne level 20-25... im not getting anything. The sub is hooked up by regular speaker wired, into the high output rear speakers. I've heard that i should get a rca convertor so that i can run rca to the amp, will doing this really improve performance or should i just buy a better sub like a w3 or a w6. I didn't think i would need to do 2x10's because the Z is a hatch... but as of right now im regretting it. All you audio tech, please chime in... be greatly appericated.

Definately want to get a high output converter for the RCA's. Also try turning up the GAIN on on the amp.
No need to switch subs. The Type R will hit really hard once you get the high output converter, turn up the gain a bit, and even though you might want to keep the stock appearance... a new head unit. A new headunit would work wonders for you.
