Default Kenwood Ddx6019 install question

Guys,

I got a few questions.

I received my unit already but haven’t received the NAV yet.

Does the NAV use one cable to connect to the HU? Does it use the same cable for power too? I plan to install the unit this weekend, then install the NAV later when it arrives. Just planning ahead.

Also “PRK SW” wire that needs to ground in order to watch DVD while driving, can I ground it to the same place as the HU’ ground cable? Just want to make sure.

The head unit (HU) has a metal cage that support it, do we use that?

Thanks a lot.

Tony

No, you do not use the metal cage. In our cars it is considered in Iso Mount, which means it is installed using the factory brackets that hold the foactory radio. As for the Parking brake wire, you can just ground it with the radio ground. Tha navigation doe have a single cable that plugs into the navigation, but on the radio side of it there are three wires coming out of the cable for Constant, Accessory, and ground. You can just wire up those wires as the same place as the radio. Holp this helps.
