Default Speaker Problems

I know this is in the wrong section but i guess ill give it a shot since the off topic forum didnt help much. So my buddy has a 94 lexus es300 and he told me that he disconnected the battery and then came back a week later and hooked it back up. He said everything was fine except for the fact that the speakers didnt work, the radio itself lights up but theres no sound. I'm not to sure what to think but I have a couple of ideas. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions or ideas? and yes i already asked him if he tried turning the volume up, lol. Also we already tried the "code" thing but that doesnt work for it and the car is bone stock.

Thanks guys

The "code thing" wasn't done correctly and the unit it in theft prevention mode currently. Enter the correct numbers correctly and it ought to light up. My Honda had the same sort of theft prevention system. When you entered the numbers it would at least beep at you though the speakers.

Wires don't disconnect themselves and it's highly doubtful that the head end destroyed itself either without power ... so I'm guessing the code thing.

+1

Get the manual out and read the procedure for inputting the code, you might be missing an extra step.
