Placement of "brain" control unit for sat radio
Hey guys,,,I did a search and couldnt find anything exactly what I'm looking for....Where is the best location to mount (hide) the "brain" control box for the Sat. radio?,,I am looking at Sirius,,but sure the XM Control box is about the same size...Some places said, "keep it as close to the headunit as possilbe"...Man, there is no space to speak of behind our headunit console area.
..Oh and thanks for the thread on antenna placement. I hope I am not asking something that has already been covered..Any help would be greatly appreciated....thanks in advance.
Mine is in the cubby hole by the glove box. it took some effort to mount it in there, but it's out of the way. The cord was very long, and there was extra cord even with it mounted so far from the stereo. Since it is an unusual cord (not RCA or speaker wire) I don't think the distance from the stereo matters much since you can't cut the cord anyway. The signal has to travel the same distance through the cord no matter where you put it.

Fishing all the cable through the carpet is not that bad. You will need a long screwdriver and some needle nose pliers.
