Default Anyone rewire the Digital Gauge?

I love the digital gauge but don't like the placement of controls on the cluster. Since I never use the cruise control I'd like to rewire the cruise controls so I could operate the digital gauge from the steering wheel. Anyone try this or know where I could find a wiring diagram?

You can rewire it, but no one has done this yet. I use the cruise control, so I would never consider this mod. So, what I suggest is that you find a Factory Service Manual, you can buy one on Ebay, but they cannot be sold here, due to copyright laws. The FSM will show you the wires you need to tap into to change the digital guage. Personally, I think its way to risky to disassemble the entire steering wheel and risk deployment of your airbag. So, go hunting for an FSM, and make your mod alot easier.

Good luck.

Okay, thanks. I was hoping I could intercept somewhere below the steering wheel. I'll try to find a manual and go from there...

wow you use the gauge that much?

only thing I do is click twice to get it to stop bitching about my low tire pressure and take me back to the MPH screen.

Yeah, guess so. Right now the weather is cool so it keeps going to the thermostat and then I have to reset it. I like the MPH as the default but also like to check air pressure occasionally, and because it's still new I'm checking gas mileage to see how my lead foot driving is afffecting my MPG. I would love to use the stop watch also, but trying to find that darned button during a fast acceleration doesn't sound like a good idea....

true true, but might want to give it a little time for you to see if your habits continue. I used it a good bit at first, and now not so much, now making it stop changing automaticly to temp or PSI when their low, that would be nice... then I wouldnt have to mess with the stupid button.
