Do components need to match there cross-overs?
I have a friend who has a set of MB-Quart speakers. His car was broken into and they stole the cross-overs. I have a set of Infinity Kappa perfect cross-overs left over from my previous car (long story) and I was wondering if they can be used? I know they are not optimized for them, but figured I'd ask since the speakers would be free.
The crossovers are matched to the speakers impedance in ohms, the slope in dB, and the frequency. The impedance and frequency are published. The crossover slope is normally not published and has a pretty big influence on the sound.
will it work? yes? will it sound okay? that depends on speaker and crossover, but the easier answer is to hook it up and try, but it ownt fry anything if thats what you are asking

It will work, but it will not sound correct. Also, the MBQ tweeter may not be designed to play as low as the Infinity XO will allow and you will risk blowing it at high volume levels.
