Finally installed my HU yesterday and was displeased with the final appearance, as the gaps between the mounting kit and HU are what I consider large. HU is an Alpine 7995, using Metra install kit (ISO Mount). Is there a kit with a better fitment than the Metra? Any pics of kits other than the Metra would be appreciated.
Supposedly Scosche is coming out with their own kit. I haven't kept up with its release date (maybe it already is out). But my 06 metra dash kit seems to have a gap at the top middle section, where the kit sags/deflects a little. It bothered me at first, but now I'm used to it and dont notice it at all.

Finally cured the gap problem with the **** poor Metra kit today. I ended up modifying the kit to blend the trim ring from the double din option with the pocket from the single din. The fitment is hands down 100% better. It took a considerable amount of time, grinding, filing, test fit and test again, but I believe it was worth the effort. I will post some pictures of the finished product in the morning.
The pocket on mine was a little distorted as well.
I used a flame source to heat the edges and then formed it to fit better -- frustrating to receive something of such mediocre quality.... after waiting a month to get it.
